Futrix 6.2 - Changes and Enhancements
Performance Optimizations
Many performance improvements have been implemented in Futrix 6.2 such as:
→Shared caching engine which leverages previous user queries
→Long lists of Dimensions/Measures
→Query performance with numerous classification Dimensions
→Interface performance with numerous Subjects
→Remote Administrator
SAS 9.3 is now fully supported with Futrix 6.2
Personal Data Extracts / Scheduled Extracts / Indexed Data Sets
Personal Data Extracts can now enable users to request a fast and simple extract for use outside of Futrix. This facilitates the use of Futrix as a gateway for common data extracts, making full use of the standard filtering segmentation and calculation functionality within Futrix. This functionality is particularly useful where the user wishes to aggregate numerous different dimensions resulting in a large number of rows or columns.
Using Scheduled Extracts, it is now possible for users to request an administrator to generate Report Extracts (to PDF, Excel, Word, etc.) as well as Data Extracts (CSV and SAS Datasets) for use outside of the Futrix environment. These extracts can also be made available globally to all Futrix users, to a Group, or for Personal use only.
Futrix Indexed Dataset structures can now be incrementally updated with appended data, without requiring the overhead of a full re-build.
Global Dimensions
Benchmark Measures
Benchmark Measures are a new type of measure which can be added to the Metadata Matrix which is designed to answer business questions such as:
"How does the price per service of each provider compare to the average price per service across all States where the provider operates?"
Benchmark Measures can now also be created based on Count Distinct Measures
New Secure Layer for Custom Static Content and Static Published Output
Viewing for large tables in web client (Performance Boost)
Large Viewpoint table performance is significantly enhanced as they are now displayed in a paged viewing mode. Where a table is larger than a specified threshold, only a certain number of rows will be displayed, the user can then navigate forward though pages containing the allowed number of rows.
Executive Briefcase: Support for folder driven categories and sub-categories
The Executive Briefcase setup process has a new option to Use Menu Folders as Categories and Sub-Categories. When selected, it is possible to select Main Menu folders to use as Executive Categories instead of manually creating categories. Every Viewpoint or Dashboard within the selected Main menu folder will appear in the Executive Briefcase category, any sub-folders of the selected menu folder will also appear as sub-categories.
Note: When using this method of category creation, an additional clickable breadcrumb trail is also available in the Executive Briefcase end-user environment, to assist in navigation of what could be multiple levels of categories and sub-categories.
