Technical Specifications

Futrix leverages the powerful SAS software platform. The relevant SAS software products must be licensed for Futrix to operate.

Supported Operating Systems:

  • Windows 95 or greater
  • Windows NT V3.51 or greater
  • UNIX

Required SAS Version:

  • Futrix version 5 requires SAS software version 8.2 or above, though we recommend the use of SAS software version 9.1.3 SP4 to gain the maximum benefit.

SAS Products Required:

  • SAS BI Server

Other SAS Products Utilized:

  • SAS Enterprise BI Server (for building multi-dimensional cubes)
  • SAS/Connect® (for client/server processing)
  • Any SAS/Access® products as required for access and processing data from 3rd party databases

Data Sources Supported:

  • SAS data sets/data views
  • SAS MDDBs
  • SAS OLAP Server cubes
  • HOLAP data structures
  • External RDBMSs through SAS/Access

Other Third-Party Software Required:

  • Sun Java™ Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.4 or greater for each Futrix server or desktop installation and any Futrix Web clients that will view drillable charts
  • Web server software (e.g. Microsoft Internet Information Server, Apache Web Server etc.) for a Futrix Web for SAS/IntrNet server installation
  • J2EE™ server software (e.g. IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic, Apache Tomcat etc.) for a Futrix Web for SAS Integration Technologies server installation
  • Internet Explorer version 5 or greater for each Futrix Web client
